About Matthew Fay

I began sewing at 6 years old when my mom taught me to hand-stitch. I would make clothes for my barbie dolls from fabric scraps I would find around the house. I always grew up fascinated by the costumes in classic films I’d watch with my mom like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and all the Alfred Hitchcock movies she loved leading me into a fascination with mid-century notions of glamour.

I draw heavily from the vintage designs of Christian Dior, Yves st. Laurent, and Chanel as well as the Barbie fashion model collection by Robert Best. My fashion creations are meant to carry on what I would have loved to have seen from fashion packs if they had continued the line today.
